No generation in Human history had the opportunities to mitigate climate change, curb corporate greed, and redirect us away from the terrible economy of War for Profit like the Baby Boomers did. They did none of this. Instead, as a generation, they doubled down on greed and developed cultural scabs of apathy that erupted into complaints about paying their taxes for critical social services. Their ineptitude and cruelty, as a generation, has hobbled Americaโs moral center. I will never forgive that generation and I will always vilify it because they deserve it.
There many wonderful elderly individuals who lived their lives with the best intentions. Some of them even did wonderful things with limited resources and results. As a generation, they are the worst in American history. Itโs my opinion and I can defend it with History.
This really just caught me at the wrong time and annoyed me enough to write about it. I've lost a couple of good friends because of this comment that I continue to make about the Baby Boomers as a generation. I realize that in this day and age, we really shouldn't be singling out any group of people and blaming them. I do realize that. But the emotion is intense to lay some blame down. Really, we need to be working together to solve these problems. Blaming and hating on others doesn't solve shit; it just harshes the buzz.
I've let this anger pass and there is some embarrassment about getting that irrational, giving into my emotions instead of biting my tongue. Right now, it's just raw.
That being said, what I am talking about with the business model changes of Cinema is worth discussing on its own merits.
I would define as โthose who had the power, the opportunity, and the choice.โ They were the ones who failed us all. A generation can only be judged by its collective and comprehensive effects on History.
btw, I appreciate this exchange. There is no disrespect in my engagement. I hope you know that I do this here with great affection and respect for your opinion. I always have.
Thank you, JB. It would be cool if we could exchange the lenses we look through and have a time machine for a day. Big love and respect to you also. Thank you for inviting me here.
Stop with the ageism already. I agree with Mr Lynch.
It's the old muppet guys in the balcony. I have a real problem with Baby Boomers telling me what to do after they've wrecked this world.
JB, Baby Boomers did not wreck this world. You do realize that your grandchildren's generation will blame your gen for wrecking this world, don't you?

You are clearly only talking about white people of that generation.
